CM Naidu’s Vision for Speedy Procurement
Chief Minister Naidu has emphasized the need for prompt procurement payments to avoid distress sales. He has directed the agriculture department to set up procurement centers in every mandal and ensure that farmers receive payments within 48 hours of sale. The government is also working on a digital platform to track procurement and payment status in real-time.
Technology-Driven Crop Advisories
To help farmers make informed decisions, the state is launching a mobile app that provides personalized crop advisories based on soil health, weather data, and market prices. The app will send alerts on pest attacks, irrigation schedules, and optimal harvesting times. This initiative is part of the broader push for natural farming and sustainable agriculture.
Natural Farming Initiatives in 2026
Andhra Pradesh continues to lead in natural farming with over 10 lakh farmers already practicing zero-budget natural farming (ZBNF). The government plans to expand this to 15 lakh farmers by the end of 2026. Key initiatives include:
- Free training on natural farming techniques
- Supply of bio-inputs like cow dung and urine
- Market linkages for organic produce
- Subsidies for setting up vermicompost units
